Making Our Own Way, Ep. 2: RepresentASIAN Project Founder Madelyn Chung

Writer, editor, psychotherapist and founder of The RepresentASIAN Project—Madelyn Chung has a lot of jobs and she’s pretty brilliant at all of them. As a writer and editor, she’s contributed to Flare, Fashion, Chatelaine, HuffPost and Netflix. She’s a practicing therapist. And, she’s been running RepASIAN since 2020. A media platform dedicated to celebrating, elevating and advocating for Asian representation throughout North America, the brand highlights success stories, tackles difficult topics and offers nuanced, insightful analysis on issues facing Asian disasporas today. In this week’s episode of Making Our Own Way, Madelyn chats with Friday Things about why we still need to push for representation, the importance of holding ourselves accountable and why we should be paying attention to the hot guys and girls of Physical 100.

Making Our Own Way is a six-part video series about GTA creatives who are figuring out their own unique pathways to success, both within and outside of traditional power structures. Hosted by Friday Things founder and editor Stacy Lee Kong, each video features thoughtful conversations about what it’s like to break new ground—and why it matters that we do. We also laugh (a lot).
